The 403rd ginza graphic gallery Exhibition
Yuri Uenishi
Now Printing
September 03, 2024 - October 23, 2024
Given the opportunity to reexamine herself and her design work for a solo exhibition at ginza graphic gallery this autumn, Uenishi says, “I became a designer because I wanted to surround myself with, be involved with, and live with my favorite things, and I have worked in the hope that the things I make might be important to someone else.” Truthful in every respect, she communicates the same sincerity through her designs.
The exhibition introduces the point where Uenishi finds herself today and without embellishment. The arrangement of the graphics is straightforward with new printed matter of every size on the first floor, while the basement floor is given over to her archive of past work in the form of street posters on walls and pillars, or books arranged on shelves and racks. Visitors can share the enjoyment of her favorite things and her aesthetics, rather than simply look at an exhibition. A keen traveler, Uenishi is also showing some of her treasured objects.
The plan is to rotate the displays on the first floor every two weeks. We hope you will enjoy this progressively varying exhibition of work by Uenishi Yuri.
