About the Ikko Tanaka Archive

The Ikko Tanaka Archive is a facility for study and research by specialists in related fields. The archive preserves and manages the following items:

  1. Works and materials previously kept at Ikko Tanaka’s former office – Ikko Tanaka Design Studio – and at his privately owned vacation home. All items were donated to the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion by his heirs, and most are now stored at the following location:

    DNP Data Techno Co., Ltd., Kyoto-Minami Plant, Kosei Bldg. (2nd Floor)
    29, Kisshoin Kannondo-cho, Minami-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto Pref. 601-8348
  2. Among the archived items, posters, original drawings and other materials that require strict temperature and humidity control are stored at the following location:

    Center for Contemporary Graphic Art (CCGA)
    Miyata 1, Shiota, Sukagawa-shi, Fukushima Pref. 962-0711

How to access the Archive

Access is by appointment only. To make an appointment, please contact the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion by email according to the procedure outlined below:

Procedure for making an appointment

・After reading “Information Concerning Use of the Ikko Tanaka Archive,” contact the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion by email, providing the information described below. A response will be sent as soon as possible.
・Please note that access to the Archive is not permitted without a prior appointment.
・Appointment requests may be rejected in some cases: for example, depending on the intended usage, condition of the requested materials, access restrictions, etc.

*Requests for an appointment should be received at least 10 days in advance.

●When requesting an appointment, please provide the following information:
Applicant’s name and affiliation
Position or current status (e.g., researcher, graduate school student, university student, other)
Email address
Requested date of appointment
Study or research topic
Usage purpose (e.g., thesis preparation, research paper, publication, etc.)
Number of persons seeking access to Archive
